Ms. Revolutionary Purpose World

My platform, “Be the Message”, advocates for suicide prevention and mental wellness. By spreading awareness, I strive to eliminate the stereotypes and stigmas keeping minorities and youth in urban communities from getting the lifesaving support they need. I was a junior in high school when I lost a friend to suicide. Exactly twenty years following that tragedy, I became a Field Advocate for the AFSP Illinois Chapter and a team captain for their annual walk. Last year, I added the NAMIChicago walk to my captain's list and hosted my own walk for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Since 2014, I have facilitated over 100 suicide interventions. I hold over 100 professional certifications in Cognitive Behavior Therapy Life Coaching, Grief and Loss Coaching, Mental Health, Stress Management, Suicide Prevention, Trauma Informed Care, Youth Development, Wellness, and much more.
Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in my state for ages 15 to 24. I have worked with several organizations over 10 years educating audiences, raising funds, speaking, and volunteering at events throughout the Midwest. Yesterday, I completed an Advocate Training for the NoStigmas organization, which exists so that no one faces mental health challenges alone-and stigmas are never a barrier to treatment or support. As your next Ms. Revolutionary Purpose International, I will have more opportunities to speak for the voiceless and create safer spaces for sensitive conversations guiding vulnerable populations to vital resources. I always hope to inspire more people, not only to continue living, but to also THRIVE!
